It turns out coffee is one genius ingredient, that is also a good body scrub to minimize cellulite. Coffee helps to tighten skin and also reduce the appearance of dimply cellulite.

For the DIY body scrub, mix ground coffee with a spoon of olive oil and sugar. Use this mixture and massage on the affected area in circular motions. You can follow this routine on daily basis, depending on your skin type.

Dermatologist Julie Russak, M.D., explains to Women’s Health, “Caffeine dehydrates the fat cells and stimulates circulation, therefore making the skin appear tighter and smoother, says Russak.

However, she notes that these effects are temporary and shouldn’t be relied on as long-term solutions.

2. Coffee Can Lower Your Risk Of Prostate Cancer

Latest researches suggest that drinking four to five cups of coffee a day can lower the chances of fatal and high grade prostate cancer.

In fact, regardless of how many cups you drink overall, every three cups of coffee you drink can reduce your risk of fatal prostate cancer about 11 percent.

However, high doses of caffeine can cause major health issues, such as irregular heartbeat and seizures. The Mayo Clinic cautions against ingesting more than 400 milligrams of caffeine a day, the equivalent of four cups of brewed coffee.

The way coffee is prepared is an important factor, too.

2015 study in Norway found that people who drank boiled coffee had lower risk of prostate cancer than men who drank coffee prepared another way or not at all.

The chemicals cafestol and kahweol have well-known cancer-fighting abilities. Researchers believe these chemicals are trapped when coffee runs through a paper filter. Boiled coffee may allow these cancer-fighting chemicals to stay in your daily brew.

Coffee has been the focus of attention from various researchers due to its known health benefits.

Most studies found that moderate coffee consumption may lower the risk for common neurodegenerative conditions, i.e. Alzheimer’s.

However, they don’t have the answer on the exact impact.

Still, they reassure that coffee drinkers shouldn’t fear their health because of the coffee, and that in future experts will recommend coffee to decrease age-related mental deterioration.

Coffee is not only good for the skin on your body, but your face, too.

Using coffee grounds as a face mask or scrub can brighten and tighten your skin.

For a radiant and glowing complexion, you can try a coffee mask.

Take half cup of coffee and mix it with few spoons of milk for thick consistency. Use this mixture as a face pack for 10-15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. This face mask will help to get rid of dead skin cells, leaving behind a glowing skin.

And not to mention the invigorating aroma of coffee – it is enough to awaken your senses.

5. Coffee Improves Driving Performance And Reduces Driver’s Sleepiness

Drinking caffeinated coffee is proven to improve alertness and concentration, which is essential for safe driving.

While existing road safety guidelines remain a priority, the use of caffeinated beverages, such as coffee, could help keeping you alert while driving.

This study shows that one cup of caffeinated coffee (80 mg caffeine) significantly improves driving performance and reduces driver sleepiness. Both lane keeping (SDLP) and speed maintenance were improved up to 2 h after caffeine consumption.

Of course, for your safety, it’s always a better option to stop where possible, drink your coffee, than continue your trip.

6. Coffee Can Prevent Retinal Damage

Coffee may do more than just perk you up in the morning. Researchers have discovered the coffee bean actually can help prevent vision loss, blindness, and glaucoma.

The main ingredient here is CGA, or chlorogenic acid, that the coffee beans contain. It is known that CGA is a powerful antioxidant that prevents retinal degeneration.

Scientists are now examining if the CGA is capable of crossing the membrane that covers the retina, the blood-retinal barrier. According to the Cornell Chronicle, “If drinking coffee proves to deliver CGA directly into the retina, doctors may one day recommend an appropriate brew to prevent retinal damage.” They added that if the CGA has that power, you may one day see the antioxidant from your coffee in eye drops.

7. Coffee Can Help Hair Growth

Caffeine has the ability to stimulate hair growth.

By inhibiting the enzyme in our body that is responsible for hair loss, known as 5-α-reductase, caffeine is thought to prevent hair loss.

Additionally, caffeine acts as a vehicle to penetrate into the cells and therefore can help to deliver active ingredients into the hair follicle.

8. Coffee Can Improve Your Reaction Time

The researchers found that drinking the caffeinated coffee improved the participants’ average reaction time. They also found that the caffeine improved participants’ accuracy on a test called the “Stroop test,” which measures skills such as planning and focusing.

To study the effects of caffeine on attention, Sharma and his colleagues tested 38 healthy adults who ranged in age from 55 to 91, Sharma said.

Most of you have already experienced this, but only as part of socializing with colleagues.

But, science have backed this up with more evidences.

new study from the University of California, Davis, finds that drinking coffee before group discussions or activities could help you be more sociable, self-confident and engaged.

“Caffeine seems to focus [people’s] discussion on the topic, make people participate more than they would without caffeine and leave them feeling better about their own participation and others’ participation,” lead researcher Vasu Unnava notes.

Don’t forget to bring an extra cup of coffee before your next meeting.
